How did we get here?

Oftentimes an Org Consolidation is the result of acquisitions and organic growth where multiple Salesforce environments need to be consolidated for strategic reasons, which makes perfect sense.  
However, sometimes an Org Consolidation is necessary because specific orgs were implemented without following best practices leveraging expert guidance and proper controls. As a result, the system has become so inefficient and unmanageable that a complete rebuild is now necessary.

Regardless, our new vision of Your Salesforce is a Unified System that can be quickly scaled and adjusted to account for future acquisitions and business strategic changes.

Comprehensive Discovery

Analyze all orgs slated for consolidation, document differences in objects, fields, automation, and security, and define a consolidation strategy.  Other key items to note are the data, external integrations, 3rd party applications, and files/attachments.

Data Analysis and Cleansing

Identify duplicate and inconsistent records, standardize data, and clean up unnecessary fields before migration.  We will leverage Sowed Data tooling to build efficiency into this step.

Data Mapping

Map data structures between orgs, transform data where needed.  This is often one of the largest efforts.

Metadata and Configuration Alignment

Merge custom objects, fields, workflows, validation rules, and automation while ensuring compatibility.  We leverage Sowed DevOps tooling for this exercise.

Security and Access Configuration

Reconcile user roles, profiles, sharing rules, and permissions to maintain proper access controls in the consolidated org.

Integration and 3rd-Party Apps

Ensure connected systems, APIs, and third-party applications work properly in the new environment.

Data Migration

Data that has previously been cleansed and mapped will be migrated in this step using Sowed Data tooling.

Introduction of DevOps

DevOps enhances development efficiency by streamlining code deployment, automation, and version control. It enables teams to collaborate, track changes, and deploy updates faster with reduced risk. By leveraging tools like CI/CD pipelines, Git, and automated testing, DevOps ensures smoother releases, better system stability, and continuous innovation.  We will leverage Sowed DevOps tooling, a DevOps tooling packaged expertly crafted by Sowed Consulting.

User Acceptance Testing

We conduct thorough testing with real users to validate that Salesforce meets your business needs before going live.  Ideally, these individuals will be involved in the Software Development Life Cycle that Sowed follows while building your Salesforce environment, becoming Subject Matter Experts during the engagement.

Training

We provide hands-on training to ensure your team is confident and ready to further use Salesforce effectively.  We also offer guidance for self-paced learning.  Our goal is to educate users on new processes, UI changes, and best practices to ensure smooth adoption.

Go Live & Go Live Support

We deploy Salesforce into production and provide real-time support to ensure a smooth transition.

Post Go Live Maintenance

We address any post-launch adjustments, troubleshoot issues, and refine the system for optimal performance.  Often we find the adjustments are related to User Interface changes and User Provisioning.

Managed Services for Ongoing Maintenance

We offer Managed ServicesManaged Services is ongoing support, enhancements, and optimizations to keep Salesforce aligned with your evolving business needs.  This is reserved for clients that want to continue to build and drive more value out of their Salesforce environment.

Mini project work, introduction of a custom built solution, introduction of 3rd party applications, and integrations are a few examples of future enhancements.  Additionally, data retention policies can be further refined and even automated.
